Flying stars for 2027 (玄空飛星)

The annual nine-palace grid, and how the engine scores each star

In a flying-star year the nine stars are dealt again across the centre and the eight compass palaces. The deal depends on the year only, not on any building. This page prints the 2027 deal as the bazifor.me engine computes it, the rule that produces it, and the score the engine gives each star in homes of each period.

In 2027, star 9 is in the centre. The 5 Yellow is in the north, where the engine scores it −2.0 in homes of most periods, the lowest score it gives any star.

The grid holds for the whole flying-star year, from Start of Spring (立春) on 2027-02-04 until Start of Spring on 2028-02-04. A date before 2027-02-04 belongs to the previous year's grid.

The nine palaces

The engine fills the palaces in a fixed order, starting at the centre and following the order of the table below. Each step adds 1 to the centre star, and a result above 9 wraps back to 1.

Where the centre star comes from

The centre star falls by 1 each year and wraps from 1 back to 9. The engine anchors the count at the year 2000, which has centre star 9.

How the engine scores a star

The engine scores a star by its relation to the period of the home. Periods are 20 years long and count from 1864, so period 8 runs from 2004 to 2023 and period 9 from 2024 to 2043. A home built in period 8 is a period 8 home, and so on. The conditions below are checked from the top, and the first one that fits gives the score.

Applying those rules to every star in every home period gives this table. Read the row of a 2027 star against the column of your home's period. Star 8 scores +2.0 in a period 8 home, and the 5 Yellow scores −2.0 in every period except 4 and 5.

How the page stays true to the engine

The grid comes from the engine function that the home reports call for the annual chart, and the scores come from the function that scores a star. A test regenerates this page from those functions.

The test fails if a single cell differs.
