Useful elements for 2027 babies, by birth month (用神)

Water (水) is the element a baby born in the 2027 Fire Goat year needs most often. It is favourable in 62.6% of the charts the engine cast, and it is the lead useful god in 29.1%. The answer depends on the birth month: Water is favourable in 99.0% of summer charts, and Fire (火) in 96.6% of winter charts.

"2027 babies" here means babies born in the Fire Goat (丁未) year of BaZi (八字), which runs from the exact moment of Start of Spring (立春), 09:45:59 on 4 February 2027, to the next one at 15:30:53 on 4 February 2028. The tables come from 17,530 charts cast with the same engine functions the baby name builder uses: one birth for every hour of that year, for both sexes.

When does the 2027 year start for a baby?

The Fire Goat year starts at the exact moment of Start of Spring (立春), which the engine's calendar library puts at 09:45:59 on 4 February 2027 by the Singapore clock (UTC+8). A baby born from 1 January 2027 up to that moment still belongs to the Fire Horse (丙午) year, and so does a baby born at 05:00 that morning. Every month change works the same way, at the exact moment of its solar term.

The next Start of Spring falls at 15:30:53 on 4 February 2028 by the same library, so a baby born from 1 January 2028 up to that moment also belongs to the Fire Goat year. The moments of all twelve month changes are in the table near the end of this page.

Which elements do 2027 babies most often need?

Water (水) leads on both measures. Across all 17,530 charts it is favourable in 62.6% and it is the lead useful god in 29.1%.

"Favourable" means the element is on the engine's favourable list for the chart. The lead useful god (用神) is the first element on that list, the one the name builder scores highest. Each list holds two to four elements, so the favourable column adds up to more than 100%.

The engine also judges each Day Master (日主) as strong or weak, and that verdict decides which elements go on the list. Of the 17,530 charts, 59.7% have a weak Day Master and 40.3% a strong one.

Which elements does a baby need in each birth month?

Water is favourable in 99.0% of summer charts and Fire in 96.6% of winter charts, while Wood (木) leads in autumn at 82.1% and Metal (金) in spring at 67.2%. Spring here is the three months from Start of Spring, summer the three from Start of Summer, autumn the three from Start of Autumn and winter the three from Start of Winter.

Read a row as follows: of all the charts cast in that period, the share whose favourable list includes the element. The twelve months are below, each named by the solar term it starts with and by its month pillar.

The most common useful god and the Day Master verdict for each month:

In the months marked tied, two elements are the lead useful god in the same number of charts.

When does each month of the 2027 year start?

Each month starts at a solar-term moment (節), listed here by the Singapore clock. The engine changes the month pillar at that exact moment. The Starts column of the month table above is the true solar date of the first sampled birth of each month, and it matches the date here.

What about a baby born in January 2027?

A baby born in January 2027 belongs to the Fire Horse year, and the same engine functions give these results for it. The table covers 1 January 2027 up to the moment of Start of Spring on 4 February 2027, sampled the same way, one birth per hour for both sexes.

How was this table made?

Each chart was cast by the engine's chart function with true solar time for Singapore, and the useful elements came from the engine's useful-god function, the same two calls behind the name builder at /baby. The sample is one birth for every clock hour of true solar time between the two Start of Spring moments, both sexes, which gives 8,765 hours and 17,530 charts. The minute inside each hour was drawn from a seeded random generator, so the run repeats exactly (seed 20261015). Male and female births gave the same useful elements in all 8,765 pairs. Five births picked at random were also checked through the live builder's code path, and all five gave the same pillars and the same favourable list.

The elements come from three rules in the engine: support and restrain (扶抑), which sets the list from the Day Master's strength, climate adjustment (調候), which can add Fire or Water for winter and summer months, and illness and remedy (病藥), which is checked beside them and changes nothing on the list. The rules are explained in what a useful god is, and the name score that uses the list is in how Chinese baby names are scored.

What this table is not

• Not a count of real births. Every hour of every day is weighted equally, which real births are not.
• Not a prediction. It shows which elements the engine's rules list for a chart, and nothing here has been tested against how a child's life turns out.
• Not a name score. Element fit is one part of a name score, 37.5 of 100 points. Use the baby name builder to score a name for a real birth time.
• Not exact at a boundary. A birth near a month change, or within a few hours of Start of Spring, needs a check against the exact moment.
• Not a calendar-year table. The first table starts on 4 February 2027, and January 2027 has its own rows above.

FAQ

Which element do babies born in 2027 need most?

Water (水). Across 17,530 charts cast for the Fire Goat year, it is favourable in 62.6% and the lead useful god in 29.1%. The answer changes by birth month, with Water favourable in 99.0% of summer charts and Fire in 96.6% of winter charts.

Is a baby born in January 2027 a Goat baby?

No. A baby born before Start of Spring on 4 February 2027 belongs to the Fire Horse (丙午) year. The Goat year runs from that moment, 09:45:59 on the Singapore clock, to 15:30:53 on 4 February 2028. The name builder switches at that exact moment.

Why does the useful element change with the birth month?

The month pillar sets the season, and the season drives both the Day Master's strength and the climate adjustment. The engine adds Water for summer months and Fire for winter months, so the favourable list is mostly decided by the Day Master and the birth month together.
