Two Singapore and Malaysia points matter in practice. First, a single flat can put its rooms in three or four different palaces, so the annual chart is read room by room and not for the flat as a whole. Second, a condo unit with a glass balcony wall has a clear facing but a looser boundary, so the room outline you trace in the tool decides which palace the balcony belongs to.

Take the fictional 王大明, born 1988-03-15, kua 震, East group. His Eight House map says his Vitality (生氣) direction is south (離), his Heavenly Doctor (天醫) is north (坎), his Longevity (延年) is southeast (巽), and east (震) is Stability (伏位), the stable seat.

Now overlay 2027:

• South, his best direction, carries the annual 4, a neutral star at 0.0. The sector stays usable and loses nothing; it just gains no annual boost.
• North, his Heavenly Doctor direction, carries 5 Yellow at -2.0. A study or bed that relies on that wall is working against the annual star for this year. The natal and personal layers still count, but the year layer is the heaviest single annual penalty.
• East, his Stability seat, carries the neutral 7.
• Southwest holds both the Grand Duke and the annual 6, a favourable auspicious white star at +0.5. The Grand Duke is the more specific warning for ground-breaking, so the rule is to keep it free of structural work even though the star is kind.
